Process

How To Do It:

  1. Review the Bat WebQuest Evaluation document for clear expectations.
  2. Brainstorm with your team the things that you already know about bats.
  3. Decide on team members' roles: writer, editor, materials manager, etc. All members can help with research.
  4. Download and review the Bat Research Questions sheet to know what information to look for.
  5. Gather information from bat websites to complete the research sheet. Recommended web sites may be found by visiting the Resources web page or by downloading the Bat Web Site URL List.
  6. Use the completed research sheet to write your draft recommendation for the Mayor's Office. (See the checklist for writing your recommendation.)
  7. Revise and edit your written recommendation as necessary.
  8. Type your edited recommendation in AppleWorks or Word and print it out.
  9. Conduct an informal self-assessment using the Bat WebQuest Evaluation document.
  10. Present your recommendation to the class.
