"Saucers in the Storm"

Fourteen days it had rained without stop
'till the giant electric brain could not count more
a single drop

Where the straw that broke the camels back fell
none can tell
Folding tables and bingo games were set up in
the gilded memorial hall

Ships made up entirely of glass
trolled the bottem of the sea
Hermits walked along the boulevards
shouting "The hour is nigh to thee"

The storm continued relentlessly

Down on the heads of the meek and proud
fell the rain
Upon the fallen smokestacks
upon the mountain and the plain

The dead rose from the graves
to silently explain
What could not be said in words

Fishes and birds left their havens
In the shelter of caves stones
preached their endless sermons

Through this storm my love
You and I my love
Flying saucers that we seek
are in the sky my love

The horeshoe crab is adjusting it's spectacles
Everydrop of rain on a pond falling
forms a circle

That spreads out in the chaos of hydrogen
and oxygen
Through the air sardines and even
larger fishes swim

Advanced tyrants that in diving bells
the situation capitalize
are rounded up in bus stations
very much to their surprise

The storm continues relentlessly

Come the time of the second fortnight
Four weeks on the storm at it's height

Came the saucers
And when the saucers came
the people bowed down

A thunderclap was heard around the world
not in ears but in souls
What masters of time and space
push the levers of such controls?

In chaos and confusion
you and I my love
Alter the holy distribution
of the sky my love

One saucer then did land
amid the vast and barren sand
of the sahara

Soon helicopters
were hovering in the rain
that falls even on the desert

For they did not dare to land
The watersoaked desert sand
had become a soup
in which floated the craft
of the extraterrestials

A nervous rocket jockey
sent down a heat seeking missle
which exploded harmlessly
for such attacks are futile

Unless in some dimension
in this one unperceived
a block of ice is broken
and the words that are spoken
do to the current present tense
cause unforseen events

"We are who you wish us to be
I am more you then you are me"
Do you see my love?
Do you see

Nothing has changed
Everything has changed

The times they are a changing
The world stands still
You don't want to love me
and you always will

Take comfort in your sorrow
Cross only the bridges you burn
Remember well tomorrow
When the saucers return

When midnight on some midsummer eve
I come to you will then you leave
this world behind and go with me?

Answer me not now
It would mean nothing
When two pople fall in love
That is really something

Listen to the voices of the saucers in the storm
Listen to the voices of the saucers in the storm

I shall now explain what was the rain
in this here epilogue

Only the clothing of the alien
emerging from the fog

The saucers are more difficult
to explain to you
Each of us has a yearningness to
discover what is true

Messengers from the other world are as
close as a heartbeat
How describe transhuman change or the
taste of what is sweet?

My job is done the song is sung
I sing then fade away
"The rain it rains on everyone"
so the Bard did say

And who am I to argue
false words make a song sing true
And lest I ever outwear my welcome
I shall now bid farewell to you
