"Pine Tree"

Inside the yellow box with the purple stripes
Green roses lie with their eyes closed
And in such events neither you nor I knows

What will become of the pine tree
supposed to be so lucky?
Wish I could see a pathway
It's so lovely, this forest,
beneath the plaid sky

The wind whispers in my ear tales of tommorrow
And just in case anyone should have forgotten
The owl feints then flies off to the haven

There in the heart of the greenwood
Nothing need be understood
Rivers of dream in my vision
Hold you fast now memory
while I transform

Many are the victims of the storm
Too long have I lingered on the flood
Now at last I've found a place
that's safe and warm
Gone are the ice cubes that once
did chill the blood

So soft are the distant murmors of the volcano
Sleep little ones it does you no harm
Venturing to this place now abandoned is the farm

Worthless the pale fire and ruby
No use are they to me
Who gathers fragrent blossems
Knows even the fairest scent
shall only decay

Naked came we all into the world
Many skins shall we wear before we die
The gambler knows the result
before the dice are hurled
If he envy's anything it is
the flight of the butterfly
