"Do the Swim"

"Dogmeat", shouted the big grey
"You deserve a holiday
Best be off and on your way
befores I change my mind"

Well, he didn't have to say it twice
I packed up my tunafish and rice
inflatable raft and sand bucket
and my transmission began to grind

Do the Swim Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Yeah, baby)
Do the Swim, Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Like, crazy,man)

T'was out on highway 409
Where that big old fat purple sun did shine
The radio was playing and I was feelin' fine
When the dashboard began to glow

I looked up and there in the sky
was a flying saucer shaped like a pie
It landed and down come an escalator
Then come a three foot tall, big headed fellow

He began to dance, did turn and twist
I found that I could not resist
Binga bang binga bang
Splish splash. splish splash
I hear the waves begin to crash

Alligators surfin down on Main Street
While the Panda's were playing that crazy beat
Spaceman floated over said,"Listen here, Jim
If you wanna walk right you'd better learn to swim"

Do the Swim Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Yeah, baby)
Do the Swim, Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Like, crazy,man)

Well, golly gee was I surprised
When I turned around and opened wide my eyes
Twenty thousand alien women
Appeared right then from another dimension

Each held in her hand a paper bag
From out each took a different flag
and threw them flags into the sky
and twenty thousand alien flags did fly

I said,"Oh surely I must be dreamin'"
Spaceman he said,"Well. I'll tell you something
Here's the part where you awaken

In your bed at home only to discover
It was just one of those things, another
of the myriad attemps to escape your mother

Except, dear boy, no matter how you feel
I'd better explain, now, here's the deal
This ain't no dream baby, this is real

Do the Swim Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Yeah, baby)
Do the Swim, Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Like, crazy,man)

Red lightning and blue thunder
It was then that I begin to wonder
"When will this crazy party end?
I got a dozen postcards I gotta send
There's photographs of mountains up around the bend
A torn sports jacket I have got to mend
Has anyone an invisible hand to lend?

Save me, Save me Won't somebody please
Soon comes the winter and I will freeze

Save me Save me I'm on my knees
Soon comes the winter and I will freeze

Then big grey appeared to me
Said,"You have a date with destiny"
Ha,ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,

A lion on a unicycle hawking chocolate
Four angels pulling a golden chariot
Upon which stood an elephant
Ridden by a jabbering chimpanzee

I put one hand over my head
and I started to swim like the doctor said
Soon I had swum past the moon
where the creamcheese saints did pine and swoon
Didn't notice then there was no air
A voice said "Son, you ain't nowhere"
Beheld visions of unimaginable beauty
Three old women said, "Boy, you is ugly"
In a dungeon deep voices echoed loud
"One's company and two's a crowd"
"No, no. no"I said, "That cannot be
You all must be foolin' me"

Then, just when things began to get really weird
a door opened and a girl appeared
She was singing this here song
"Pretty daddy where you been so long?"

Do the Swim Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Yeah, baby)
Do the Swim, Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Like, crazy,man)

Twenty two years have come and passed
Nothing ever known has been shown to last

Not motion nor stillness
Nor the ocean glistening
neath the moon and stars of evening

I live now on another world beyond the furthest sea
and what is real to you is only a song to me
Some sing of destiny Some sing of the nation
Some of what will never be and some sing of salvation

Nothing times nothing is nothing
Thought is all that all that is made of
When belief lies buried in the mist of time
All that shall remain is love

Do the Swim Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Yeah, baby)
Do the Swim, Do the Swim
Do the Swim (Like, crazy,man)
