Welcome to Tam's QuiltBlog!

I’m still working out some of the kinks – I didn’t know that moving the navigation bar to the left would be such a PITA. It killed tamboblog and it took me most of the day to fix the upload settings, ARRGH!!! – but we’re up and running and everything should work. I hope.

I’ve been sewing since my daughter was a baby, a bit more than 16 years, and I have a lot of accumulated stuff, much of it just sitting in my fabric cabinet or on my bookshelves not doing anyone any good. I’d thought that maybe other sewers and crafters could have use for some of it. If not, that’s cool – never feel obligated to say you’ll take something if you’re thinking, “What would I do with that??”

I’d like to discuss how to disburse it, first of all, how you’d like to help me decide who gets what. Do you want random drawings? First come first serve? Any other method? I just want the stuff to go to someone who might use it. And, I WILL NOT take any money, okay? I’ll even pay postage.

Is anyone interested in scraps? I have a LOT of bits and pieces of things that would be good for miniatures and paper piecing – that’s why I’ve kept them ;) lol. They’re mostly 100% cotton, but there’s some lame’ in there, maybe some satin or velvet, but a lot of the pieces are too small for regular patchwork. I also have a plastic grocery bag packed with hunks of flannel. Squares, strips, fat quarters, parts of purchased yardages, all flannel. Is that something anyone would be interested in? What about interfacing? Antique Singer sewing machine feet? 2, 3, 4 yard cuts of printed cottons I bought to make the kid sundresses (but never did)? I have some fat quarters, pieces of homespuns, some half and quarter yard cuts of solids (one Christmas my mom and sister bought me a pile of fabric, all solids, but I like never use solids!!) How about yarn? When I took weaving in college I bought a lot of really cool yarns and have balls and partial skeins left that I don’t know what to do with. I also have some balls of crochet thread.

Printed materials, I have some purchased quilt patterns in ziplock baggies that I’ve never used (including a foundation pieced mariner’s compass pattern pack with printed foundations). I have tons and tons of back issues of Quiltmaker, SewNews, Quilters Newsletter Magazine and oddball issues of other quilt mags. I also have some quilting books I don’t use anymore, Most of the printed stuff is in mint or near mint condition.

Anyway, that’s about where I am with this. Let me know what sounds cool to you and how you think it would be fair to disburse the various things.

And we can talk quilting, too! Lol

Thanks guys!
