・アップル、アップデータ

Firmware Updateの中身を見る方法（参照、巨大掲示板）
  1. xxx FirmwareUpdate xxx.dmgをマウントして、中に有る xxx FirmwareUpdate.pkgを右クリック
  2. 「パッケージの内容を表示」→「Contents」Folder を開く
  3. 「Archive.pax.gz」をデスクトップなどにコピーして、BOMArchiveHelperなどで解凍する
  4. 「Applications」という Folder ができる。中の「Utilities」Folder を開くと「xxx Firmware Update.app」がある
  5. さらにそれを右クリックしてパッケージの内容を表示し、「Contents」Folder →「Resources」Folder を開く
  6. そこに収納されている .fd で終わるファイルがFirmwareになる。
    収納例としてMacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.4では「LOCKED_MBP21_00A5_07B.fdと、LOCKED_MBP22_00A5_07B.fd」というのがそれぞれMBP21、MBP22用のEFI Firmwareとなる

      Mac Rumors発、iFixitのルーク・ソウルズ氏が、「MacBook Pro (Late 2008)」に8GB（4GB×2）のメモリを搭載するテストを実施。8GBのメモリを搭載するとシステムが安定せずクラッシュしてしまうとのことです。4GBと1GBメモリ1枚でも不安定、4GBメモリ以上の使用はOSレベルで制限されているようです。なお、4GBメモリ1枚のみを搭載した場合は問題なく動作するとのこと。
