ToyViewer (Ver.5.05)
What's New (Ver.4.92 --> Ver.5.05)
Some new functions are added and software itself is refined greatly. The following is the outlines of new functions.
- Color profiles embedded in image files can be replaced. Exif and GPS information are also displayed.
- You can save image files with/without Exif and GPS information.
- Images with CMYK color space can be dealt easily.
- SVG image files can be displayed. Note that, however, all kinds of SVG cannot be sidplayed correctly (it depends on WebKit).
- TIFF Stacks, that is, TIFF image files with multi-frame can be displayed. Moreover, ToyViewer can show animation of TIFF and GIF files with multi-frame.
- Displayed images can be easily enlarged / shrinked by new mouse operation.
- The interface to see files in a directory sequentially by using full-screen is greatly changed. You can see two images at the same time as an opened book, and two or more pieces be seen in fast-forwarding.
- The effect of obtaining the contour from an image is updated.
- New effect called "Cartoon" is added. You can add the contour to cartoon and posterize effects.
- Blur effect has variations: Gaussian filter, Median filter, and Kuwahara filter.

- The behavior to save a "Simple File" is improved. Simple files don't have information on Exif, GPS, color profile, resolution, nor comment strings. (5.01)
- You can show images in the resolution written in themselves.

- You can resize (magnify) images with pinch out or pinch out gestures. See "Scaling". (5.02)
- During scanning images in a folder, on Snow Leopard, you can go forward / backward with gestures; horizontal scroll or horizontal swipe.

- You can select whether interpolation is used to display enlarged images. See Preferences. (5.03)
- BUG Fix: Version 5.00 for Snow Leopard couldn't display correctly PICT images with transparency. (5.01)
- BUG Fix: Version 5.00 for Leopard crashed by clicking the icon on the info panel. (5.01)
- BUG Fix: The value of "75%" of the resizing scale on the image windows was wrong. (5.01)
- BUG Fix: ToyViewer couldn't read correctly image files in ASCII PNM format. (5.02)
- BUG Fix: When a file is overwritten, in some cases, the panel to confirm replacement didn't appear. (5.03)
- BUG Fix: In ToyViewer 5.02 for Tiger, Preferences panel couldn't be opened. (5.03)
- BUG Fix: In ToyViewer for Tiger, a certain operation on Scan Folder Control Panel could cause crash. (5.04)
- BUG Fix: Using Scan Folder Control Panel, ToyViewer couldn't display images on the ordinary windows one bye one. (5.04)
- BUG Fix: ToyViewer for Tiger crashed when an image was going to be saved as a TIFF image. (5.05)
What's New (Ver.4.90 --> Ver.4.92)
- French Localization is updated. Contribution from Mr. Bruno Lapeyre.
- Help document (Operation Manual) is updated substantially.
- You can instantly make ToyViewer the default application of JPEG, PNG, or other image formats. Click the button "Make ToyViewer the default application..." in the tab "Formats"
on Preferences panel, then the panel for setting is displayed. (Only for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or later)
- You can customize the contents of the pop-up menu on the image window that specifies
the scaling ratio of the image. See the tab "Window Position" on Preferences panel.
- With new widget "wheel", UI of rotation panel and PDF/GIF controller is improved a bit.
- When a PDF or EPS image is rasterized by clicking the menu, the size of the bitmap image becomes the same size as the original image is displayed. Previously, the size was fixed to 100%.
- When windows of images and tool panels are displayed, "Close Window" (command-w)
operation closes windows of images first.
- Rotation by 90º or 180º can be done repeatedly.
- You can put initial settings in file "~/Library/ToyViewer/rc" as well as "~/.toyviewerrc" .
Setting file "~/Library/ToyViewer/rc.i386" is only for Intel Mac.
- BUG Fix: PDF files could not be saved in GIF format properly.
- BUG Fix: Clipping of an image with alpha sometimes caused clash.
- BUG Fix: The function to customize the contents of the scaling pop-up menu did not work.
- BUG Fix: Some Jpeg files made by Adobe can't be displayed. (4.92)
What's New (Ver.4.80 --> Ver.4.90)
- Traditional Chinese Localization (Made by Ayee, at Ver.4.82) is available.
- The function displaying images in full-screen is added, and a button to do it is put on each image window.
- The function scanning a folder is expanded.
- A button is added to go backward showing images.
- If the 2nd screen is available, you can select the screen to display images.
- You can mark the files during scanning. Then you can delete, copy, or move the marked files. This function is convenient to pigeonhole the image files.
- The function to display images in full-screen is improved.
- The menu item "Wallpaper" is altered into "Full-Screen".
- In order to display an image in full-screen, new button is put on each image window.
- New method to display in full-screen, "Whole-length" is added.
- When plural image files are dragged onto the application icon of ToyViewer,
they will be opened in the alphabetical order of their name.
- When you save an image in JPEG or in lossy compression of JPEG200,
you can specify the option "Open new file soon" on the save panel.
With this function, you can see the quality of the newly created image.
- The quality of images made with bi-linear resizing method is improved.
- BUG Fix: If the setting for dotted files (Ignore files beginning with ".") was turned on, ToyViewer couldn't scan directories properly.
