ToyViewer provides a tool to specify the dimension and the location of the selected area on an image. Click the menu "Tools / Inspector..." (or Cmd-I) to show Inspector panel. Then, select the tab "Selection".
The dimension and the location of the selection on the main window is displayed on the panel. You can edit directly the figures on the panel. If you open other window and click the button "Set to Current Image", you can select area on the image as specified on the panel. When the image is smaller, however, the location would be modified automatically.
There are four memory cells on the panel. By clicking the small triangle, the information of the current selection is stored. To recall the information, click the button. If you always clip images into the same size, for example, this function would be convenient.
Using the left side of the panel, you can specify how to show the transparent area of the images. Refer to "Transparent Color". Images in PNG format can include the default value of the background color. If the value is effective, you can see the color, and can modify it with this panel.
On the right side of the panel, the color space and the color profile that are applied to the image are shown. You can also change the color profile. Clicking the button "Make a new RGB image", you can make a new image that is affected by the current color profile. Refer to "Color Profile".
Some image formats can save additional information, such as the date when the image was created, GPS information, and comment strings. With this panel, you can see the information.
Besides, you can edit the comment string. Note that only a few kinds of image formats can save these information; currently, JPEG, TIFF, PNG, GIF, and PNM. Only a short string is allowed for GIF and PNM. Interchangeability of non-ascii characters is not guaranteed.
Exif information, that was added by the digital camera is displayed. Current version of ToyViewer can't modify it.
