Take-apart instructions Powerbook G3 Lombard (333-400 MHz w/o firewire)
For disassembly, you'll need a regular, a small philips and a torx-8 screwdriver. I'm also selling these parts, see www.apfelklinik.de for details.
If you find these instructions helpful, please consider a small donation:

1. Open the keylock - it's located on the rear next to the modem port.
2. Remove the modules from their bays and pull the levers 1+2.
3. Important: get rid of static electricity by touching the metal frame near the HD. Do not walk around after that.
4. Remove the three screws securing the heatsink.
5. Disconnect the PRAM battery (and remove it by pulling to the left if you have to).
6. To remove the RAM, push back the snaps on either side ...
7. ... and the RAM will tilt up.
8. Lever the processor card from the mainboard.
9. Then pull it to the right.
10. You can remove the RAM from the lower slot now.
11. Pull on the tab to release the hard disk.
12. Now disconnect its cable (with more grace than me holding a 4 lbs camera)
13. Remove the bracket screws and DO NOT PULL at the cable.
14. Now remove the two modem screws.
15. Lever the modem from its connector and unplug the modem cable.
16. You can remove the keyboard now (took long enuff!)
17. Hold the clutch cover like this and pull firmly up. Repeat on the left.
18. Now remove the display's multi-colored power cable and the copper data cable
19. Tilt the inverter board carefully towards you - DO NOT bend it.
20. Disengage the slot on the left, pull to left to clear the hook from its holding slot and unplug the display cable.
21. Now remove the four screws on the back holding the display.
22. Pull the display straight up. Do not change the position of the clutches.
23. To remove the top case, use the tab to pull the trackpad cable from it's connector.
24. Remove the long screws 1-5 and the short ones 6-8.
25. Now remove the seven screws on the bottom. The long screws belong to holes 1 + 2.
26. Now release the tab on the back ...
27. ... and another nasty tab on the right.
28. Remove screws 1 + 2 for the power supply, screws 3 + 4 if you're up for more.
29. Disconnect the modem cable. DO NOT PULL at the cable.
30. Skip this if you don't need to replace the 'other' modem board.
31. Finally! Get rid of the metal cage. Now you can access the ...
32. ... sound board. For re-assembly, remove the silver cushion on the back.
33. Before you continue with the I/P board, remove the screw and the spring.
34. Now remove screw (1), the fan (2) and the 5mm nut on the back (3).
35. Pull the I/O Board up (it's a bit sticky). DO NOT use the narrow part as a handle.
36. You can slide the modem port from the I/O board now.
37. To replace the pc-card cage, remove 1-4 on the bottom of the I/O board.
38. DO NOT PULL at the pc-card cage, lever it from the board instead.
