Basic Architecture

Overview

TG100's synthesis engine is called AWM - simple 12-bit PCM playback. The basic architecture is DCO+DCA without a filter. 2 'Elements' can be stacked in a single Voice, and there are LFO and Pitch EG for each Element. As it was born as a GM synth, user's access to the internal synth parameters are restricted.

Features:
Sample ROM is said to be 2MB, which contains over 100 waveforms.

DCA's multi-step EG is non-editable except Attack and Release. Users can't control the decay segment.
In spite of such restriction, strangely, the multi-step DCA level scaling and the multi-step pitch EG are fully editable. 8 velocity curves can be selected, though it is not clear what the curve is like.

LFO can modulate pitch and amp. As only the waveform for pitch modulation can be changed to Random while amp modulation still using Triangle, there seems to be two independent LFOs hidden inside.

There is a quasi-portamento effect. TG100 adds a little pitch glide to the attack segment, when portamento is turned on by MIDI Control Change. The glide direction depends on what key is pressed previously.

16-Part multi-timber with a drum kit and a reverb/delay effect.
