KORG P3 is the Piano module version of Symphony.
Together they can be seen as module versions of a Digital Piano.
P3 has 3 Piano samples.
Symphony and P3 can share the same PCM ROM cards.

Some resources suggests that Symphony could have been named O3.
It may be because it's called Symphony Orchestra Module,
and because it's the brother of P3.
KORG Concerto is a sequencer designed to be used in combination with P3 and symphony.
It has a Quickdisk drive and seems to be a version of KORG SQD-1 sequencer.

M1
KORG M1 is
a legendary PCM synthesizer with non-resonant filter and multi-effects.
Though Symphony and P3 has neither filter nor effects,
their samples has something similar to M1.
Also KORG's design policy remarkably changed since 707 and M1
(See related information on KORG DS-8 page),
and Symphony and P3 shares this look.

PCM playbackers
When samplers were expensive and had slow storages like floppies,
and before PCM synths began to rule the world,
many PCM playbackers without filter came out.
Here are examples of filter-less PCM playbackers without editability -
mostly module versions of digital pianos and home keyboards.
PCM playbackers with more advanced editability
like Kurzweil K1000, Roland U-110 are left out.
GM synths without filter were produced much later (early 90s) and also excluded from here
(See YAMAHA TG100,
CASIO GZ-50M and
KAWAI GMouse pages).
Technics SM-PS50 is a 16-polyphonic PCM playbacker with 20 instruments.
It's bi-timbral and has an analog chorus effect.

YAMAHA TX1P is an AWM (12-bit PCM) Piano module.
It seems to have velocity-switched samples.

Ensoniq has released SPM - Sampled Piano Module,
the rackmount version of their SDP digital piano.

YAMAHA EMT-10 is a half-rack version of their AWM Portasounds.
It has some editability - brightness and EG fast/slow,
but does not respond to pitch bend and modulation.

CASIO CSM-1 is a module version of their PCM Casiotones.
CSM-10 is a piano module version.
