Sound Examples

Sound examples and Vector/Sequence emulation

All sounds are recorded without external effects.

Layering is a basic strategy to make a new sound with SC.
Triple Layers
Polyphonic Control: Most realtime controllers can only affect a channel's all voices at once. In contrast to this, some synths can pre-program the modulation for each voices individually. I call this 'Polyphonic Control.'
Using SC's Polyphonic Aftertouch, some advanced Polyphonic Controls (TG33's Vector, WAVESTATION's Wave Sequence, Quadrasynth's Tracking Generator) can be emulated to some extent (see Ensoniq SQ-R page for other examples of aftertouch polyphonic control).
Polyphonic Control of Cutoff and LFO
Polyphonic Control of Cutoff, LFO and Pitch
Vector Play: Vector synths can use their Joystick for Channel Control in realtime. Movements in X axis and Y axis are sent as two MIDI Control Changes. You can vectorize your SC as it responds to two Assignable Controllers. While classic Vector synths can control Volume and Detune at most, Vectorized SC can control Filter Cutoff and LFO as well.
Stereo Cutoff Vector
Slight Vector added to Polyphonic Control

Call for programmers

If you can write MIDI programs or if you are a MAX user, please consider this.
Currently I'm using YAMAHA MEP4 MIDI Event Processor to generate sequences of Polyphonic Aftertouch in realtime. It's drawback is that it can generate only 4 Aftertouch data in response to the incoming note messages.
So I wish there were a software that can generate free sequences of data in response to the note messages. If you are interested, please contact me.

UPDATE:
IMS - Interactive Multimedia Systems

The site shows many interesting PC programs that interacts with incoming MIDI information in realtime. This will expand the possibility of MIDI playing. Time to get a new PC.... Thanks Matevz for responding to my call, and providing great idea and resources!
