PCM playback

R-100's synthesis engine is a simple PCM playbacker.
A sample's level, velocity sensitivity, pitch and panning are editable. The parameter range is not so wide - 15 or 16 steps.
R-100 has SysEx parameter change messages. All samples' parameters can be altered in realtime.

The manual says that R-100 has 24 PCM samples recorded at 32kHz. There's no mention about the bit resolution. This leaves unclear the actual specification.
At least, an advertisement says that R-100 uses 12-bit samples.

There were PCM ROM expansion: CP-2 and CP-3 chips. They may be quite rare today.

Interfaces

R-100 has several neat interface features, compared to other mid-80s drum machines.

The pads are velocity sensitive.
8 individual outputs.
SysEx incl. realtime parameter change messages.
DIN Sync.
Tape Sync.
Using Timing Adjust parameter, Sync timing can be edited.
