YAMAHA MK-100
Overview

Synthesizer

MK-100 uses several single-cycle waveforms as the oscillator. 2 oscillators are layered and processed with several Amp envelope patterns.
There's no filter, and the pitch can't be edited.

Each oscillator has its own 4 waveforms. (See the figure below - the first 4 are for OSC1, and the rest are for OSC2.)
MK-100 has some more waveforms but they are not freely accessible - They can be used only by modifying the presets.

Each oscillator has its own 4 patterns of amp envelope patterns. Some presets uses other envelope patterns, and they can be used by modifying the presets.

MK-100 can't mute an oscillator, that is, both oscillators are always on and mixed, it's difficult to differentiate the original waveforms.

Two sounds can be layered to make a 4-oscillator layer.

Drum Machine

MK-100 has one analog drum machine. It has 6 instruments - Kick, Snare, HH Open, HH Closed, Bongo and Conga.
There are 12 preset patterns with some variations and fill-ins. Users can fully program their own patterns by realtime-recording of each instrument.

Effect

MK-100 has one "Stereo Symphonic" Effect, which seems to be analog. Two settings can be selected - Chorus and Tremolo.
It affects all the sounds except the drums.

Sequencer / Arranger

Auto Bass Chord can be triggered with lower keys. Bassline, accompaniment chords and drum patterns begin to play the patterns.
When Auto Bass Chord is on, using Duet and Trio, 1 or 2 more voices can be added while playing the melody with one key. MK-100 selects the appropriate notes based on the current chord.
The chain of patterns can be programmed, and the melody line and the bassline can be realtime-recorded.

Storage

YAMAHA proudly informed that MK-100 has 3.2KB RAM area. All the data is stored in that RAM, and all RAM contents can be saved through the cassette interface.
