Roland MC-303
SoundDiver editor
MC-303 Performance Editor
This is a MC-303 Performance Editor for
Emagic SoundDiver.
You need Emagic SoundDiver to use this editor.
This editor uses MC-303's Sound Module Mode, and makes sounds by layering 4 MIDI channel Parts.

About this adaptation
I made this adaptation with MC-303, SoundDiver 3.0.5.2 and Mac OS 9.1,
but it will work with other versions and platforms.
I'm not sure if it works with the related model EG-101.
Please tell me If you have both EG-101 and SoundDiver.
To use this editor, set MC-303 in the Sound Module Mode by switching it on with [Play Mode]+[Power].
This adaptation uses the MIDI channels 1-4.
To layer the sounds, you have to play the same sequences at 4 channels.
Put the cursor on the parameter, and the parameter name is displayed.
The effect parameters affects all Parts at once.
There are settings for Modulation Wheel (MW) and Polyphonic Aftertouch (AT).
Part 1 and 2 shares the same settings for MW and AT, so do Part 3 and 4.
Portamento settings can be controlled, but not memorized, because of MC-303's MIDI spec.
Sometimes MC-303 failes to communicate MIDI Data, when many Note data and SysEx are sent at once.
Switching the Mute buttons and Poly/Mono buttons will be of help at such times.
Be sure to use SoundDiver's request function before storing the sound in the bank and naming the sound.
This adaptation has a virtual bank that stores 64 sounds (Portamento not memorized).
If you find any problems, or if you find something with it, please let me know.
MIDI SysEx Problems
Some information seems to be missing in the SysEx documentation in the Roland's manual.
The dumped data should be nibblized.
Bulk dump addresses are not detailed in the manual.
Bulk dump start addresses for the Part 2-4 in the manual seem to be wrong.
I figured out the bulk dump addresses by trial and error, but there may still be something wrong.
Consequently the editor may not work perfectly.
Please tell me if there's any deeper information about MC-303's SysEx format.
