CASIO GZ-50M
Overview
PCM playback
GZ-50M is basically a PCM playbacker without a filter.
The sample ROM is said to be 4MB, and it contains 128 GM sounds and 8 drum set.
GZ-50M is 32 polyphonic.
There's almost nothing editable.
Even MIDI channel can't be altered -
Part 1 receives Channel 1, Part 10 is always Ch 10, etc.
The Effect
The effect is rather impressive, though only one effect can be used at once.
There are 10 effect types;
Reverb 1/2/3, Chorus, Tremolo, Phase Shifter, Organ Speaker, Enhancer, Flanger, EQ Loudness.
MIDI Control
GZ-50M responds to the following MIDI Controllers.
Pitch Bend
Modulation Wheel: vibrato
Volume
Pan
Expression: just for volume control
Hold
Sostenuto
Soft Pedal: doesn't seem to make any difference
Effect Depth
Pitch Bend Depth
Coarse Tune
Fine Tune
Channel Pressure: same as Modulation Wheel (vibrato)
System Exclusive is only used for GM System ON and Effect Change.
