DWGS
The first synthesizer that used DWGS was DW-6000. It had 8 waveforms in 64KB ROM and analog chorus, but no velocity.
EX-8000 is the rackmount version of DW-8000. MEX-8000 is the memory expander that stores 256 patches by SysEx.
According to Synrise site, there was the updated version called DW-8000 ACTION series. They had an external input for the digital delay.

DW's digital editing interface (KORG called it Digital Access Control) is inherited from KORG's older digital/analog synths like POLY-61. DW-8000's digital delay is like POLY-800II (see POLY-800 page). While POLY-800II had maximal 1024ms delay time, DW-8000 has 512ms at max.

KORG gave DWGS waveforms to their romplers after M1. They are not DW's, but seem to be newly created waveforms.

Recently, KORG added DWGS not only to romplers but also to VA synths. MS2000 is the first one.

DSS-1
KORG DSS-1 is a 12-bit sampler with many synthetic features. It has 2DCO-1VCF architecture with digital delays, which resembles DW-8000. But DSS-1 has much more interesting features - oscillator sync, hand-drawing waveform, additive synthesis, bit-reduction, 4/2 pole filter, unison detune, two digital delay units, etc. It could have been interesting if DW-8000 was the waveform-preset version of DSS-1.

Digital Wave, Analog Filter
KAWAI K3 is the most close competitor with DW-8000. It has similar 2DCO-1VCF architecture, but it had 32 additive waveforms plus 1 user-definable additive waveform.

ENSONIQ ESQ-1 is another digital-wave/analog-filter synthesizer. It has 32 additive-recreated waveforms. It has 3DCO architecture with Sync and AM.

It is said that Sequential crews learned much from DW-6000 in creating Prophet VS. It uses the similar synthesis engine that processes digital waveforms with an analog filter, but the new feature Vector Synthesis is added. Prophet-VS, PPG Wave, Waldorf Microwave, etc. can be seen as much evolved brothers of DW's digital-wave/analog-filter synthesis.

Also CASIO FZ-1 may be related - it's a 16-bit sampler but it has also an additive oscillator. And I suspect its filter seems to be analog like CASIO HT-6000. At least, it's relatively easy to emulate DWGS with FZ.
