KORG DW-8000
Overview
DWGS
DWGS is basically a single-cycle waveform. The waveforms are recreated from acoustic instruments by additive synthesis. DW-8000 has 16 sets of 8-bit DWGS waveforms in 128KB ROM.

DW-8000 Features
DW-8000 is a 8-polyphonic 2DC0-1VCF digital/analog hybrid synth.
The Oscillators are simply mixed and put together into one filter. There's no OSC-to-OSC modulation like Sync and Ring Modulation. There is one noise oscillator.
The filter is 4-pole analog. It sounds warm, but the resonance sometimes makes sounds thinner. When the resonance is set at the max, it suddenly reaches bold near-self-oscillation.
The envelope is a multi-step one with 6 parameter - the one inherited from the older DCO analog POLY-800.
DW-8000 has the following modulation sources: Portamento, Auto Bend, LFO, Velocity and Aftertouch. The data entry slider can be used as realtime control for a selected parameter.
Unison Mode makes DW a mono-synth by layering all the 8 voices.
All sounds are processed by a digital modulation delay that can be used as chorus and flanger. The delay time ranges 0 to 512msec.
