Here are sound examples of CTK-1000. No external effects are added.
PCM without a filter
CTK-1000 seems to have no filter, as velocity does not affect PCM sample's brightness.
According to the manual, velocity controls not only the volume but also the decay time.
There are some 'Jam Loops' that combines several different samples.

Some sounds are made of both PCM and Nonlinear.
The strings sound below was recorded without internal effects.

No resonance emulation
CTK-1000 emulates resonant bass by using PCM sample.
It seems that Nonlinear as well as PCM section has no filter and resonance function.

Sounds like FM
Some Nonlinear sounds resembles YAMAHA DX7's FM.
This may be made possible by Ring Modulation (and Phase Distortion) like VZ.
Or CASIO may have secretly implemented Cross Modulation (FM).
I opened CTK-1000 to see if there's YAMAHA's FM chips,
but of course there was no YAMAHA but just one synthesis chip: CASIO CDH3256 / HG52E35P.

Filter emulation
Nonlinear engine has no filter, but can emulate it in a unique way.
Even when bright harmonics are added with Nonlinear modulation, the sound does not get thin, in contrast to DX.

Nonlinear
Nonlinear engine can generate various sounds.
The sounds are digitally creative but fat like analog at the same time.
VZ's iPD can create much more complex sounds by 8 oscillators' interaction and 8-step envelope,
but it's my impression that IXA's Nonlinear sounds more big and analog than VZ.

Sync
Sounds below suggests that CTK-1000 has Oscillator Sync function.
FM synths can emulate sync-like sounds, but only to some extent. Compare the sound of YAMAHA TG33's 2-Operator FM.
