The artist
When I got Casiotone 1000P recently and played it for the first time, its sound at once reminded me of the artist,
Bill Nelson.
In the early 80s, before he moved to YAMAHA DX7 and EMU Emax,
he had used CASIO VL-1 and MT-30 extensively,
together with Moog MiniMoog, Arp Omni Strings and Roland TR-808.
His casiotone's synthesis engine seems to be related to that of Casiotone 1000P quite closely.
Among many of his albums, "A Catalog of Obsession" released in 1984 is filled with Casiotone pads and arpeggios.
