KORG Audio Gallery AG-10 is the lowest-end model of ai2 (ai square) synthesis series, started with 01/W.
I made an editor for AG-10 with Emagic SoundDiver.
This editor can use AG-10's hidden waveforms and new synthetic function.
See the link below for downloads and sound examples.
01/W: ai2 synthesis
KORG released 01/W in 1991 as the next generation of M1's ai synthesis.
The synthesis engine is called ai2 (ai square).
01/W has 32-poly, 6MB engine with the new non-linear function called Wave Shaping.
Wave Shaping distorts the waveform and it can be used to emulate distortion, resonance, etc.
To me it's like YAMAHA SY99's Fixed Frequency RCM (sample FM)
and CASIO VZ's iPD (interactive Phase Distortion). Filter emphasis/color is also added in ai2 synths.
Other ai2 synths
KORG released various versions of ai2 synths, discarding Wave Shaping and adding GM compatibility instead. Later models have 64 polyphony. For info about other models, see 03R/W, 05R/W, and NS5R pages. No other modules seem to have AG-10's ILM function.
The half rack module 05R/W is the closest brother of AG-10. 05R/W has 6MB ROM and 2 multi-effects.
