Serge Tauber shared his experience of producing a Photo Book of his travels using iPhoto '08, and showed us the high quality result. Colin gave us an in-depth look at the enhanced features of the Preview app in Leopard.
Robin Workman gave a demo of FileMaker Bento, the personal database organiser for Leopard that integrates with iTunes and iPhoto. Colin explored Spotlight under Leopard, covering purging and reindexing your hard drive, boolean searches, searching metadata from Get Info and using Automator to capture regular searches.
Our first two compilations in the 'Disc-of-the-Month' series sold well.
Colin gave us his take on Macworld Expo SF08 and showed some new features in Microsoft Office Mac 2008, which was also the main raffle prize (won by Ken Driver).
Ken Driver also gave a preview and rationale of the new AMUG web site.
For March only, we met in Room 335 down the hall (R327 Theatrette was in use).

Our last meeting for 2007 featured refreshments, a fine spread, a Christmas theme and some great prizes. Main raffle prize was an 8GB iPod nano (RED)™ valued at $284, won by Warwick Harty.

In October we met on the second Monday night, because of the Labour Day public holiday.
Warwick gave a presentation about VoIP. Main prize was an Apple Airport Base Station 802.11g (dome shape), kindly donated by Colin Palmer, won by Gordon Maxwell.
This was our Annual General Meeting. All members of the past committee were re-elected unopposed, with Barbara Watson formally accepting the position of Treasurer. Colin's main presentation was Google Docs, the free web-based word processing service. A sumptuous supper rounded off the evening.
Tony Healy presented some superb holiday images with a demo of Apple Keynote. Main prize was a wireless Apple Mighty Mouse, kindly donated by Colin Palmer and won by Colin Budd. Among other prizes was a copy of the just-released book 'MacDesign out of the box' courtesy of Peachpitt Press.
Colin covered DRM-free music available from iTunes, and compared the superior Quartz rendering of Apple Keynote to Microsoft PowerPoint.
