It has been well over a decade since I started my design career. I've worked with a broad range of clients, both foreign and domestic, large and small. While I've learned a great deal from all of my design classes, my projects, my employers and peers, the one concept that has proven to be absolutely vital for creating successful advertising is this:

Cut the clutter. Don't distract an already distracted audience. All too often the urge to say everything at once is the driving force behind bad advertising. Your average consumer isn't willing to read a lot or stay focused on any ad for very long. And why should they? Ads are everywhere these days! The best approach is to respect your audience and their time by keeping your message impactful, smart and concise. Once you've gotten their attention, then you can direct them to where they can learn more.

With this concept in mind, perhaps it's time to take a look at my portfolio.
