Updaters are available for Mac OS X and Windows.
The security issue relates to a design problem in IPv6 - the update gets around it by "disabling the support for type 0 routing headers." I suspect that if you don't know what that means, you should just go ahead and install the update anyway. Apple says the Gigabit version of the base station is unaffected.
