Finding the Paradox - the Path to Enlightenment Evolution in this dimension is the attainment of paradox over contradiction. In order to grow, we are constantly being put into situations with diametrically opposing demands. Such is the nature of our physical dimension; energy flows from opposite to opposite, pole to pole. Positive to negative, negative to positive. Polarization brings about movement, oscillation, waves; the Word. Our task of spiritual evolution is to take two mere contradictions and turn them into a single dynamic paradox. What is the difference between a contradiction and a paradox? In the beginning is the contradiction two opposites that are antagonistic; they simply oppose. Each seeks to destroy the other; Thesis and antithesis. The situation is static. There is no growth, only activity; no direction, only movement; no light, only heat. Eventually the two must merge without losing their True Identities to become one greater thing: Synthesis. Let us take, for example, the age old question, "What happens when an irresistible force encounters an immovable object?" At first there is great friction, stress and destruction. Because of the innate Nature of each, neither can give way. Each sees the other as destructive to its own ends; as its antithesis. The struggle between the two goes on until a crisis is reached. At some point, in order to avoid mutual annihilation, they must move from contradiction to paradox; from thesis/antithesis to synthesis. But neither is permitted surrender its true nature. Suddenly the solution presents itself as an inspiration. The immovable object ceases resistance and becomes instead, the perfect conductor. The irresistible force ceases to try to move the immovable and continues on its way, unresisted. The paradox succeeds: The immovable object remains immovable with even the greatest force passing harmlessly through it; the irresistible force is not resisted. Heat becomes light. If this principle holds true, then I would expect to find that the perfect conductor for electricity would at first seem to be the perfect insulator, but it would require that the energy reach a sufficient strength or frequency before passing it through without resistance. Finding the Paradox is very different than its look-alike, compromise, which politicians are so eager to applaud. The key to attaining Paradox is that opposing elements retain the integrity of their True Nature. A solution arises without diluting, denying, or perverting the Essence of either. It is infinitely reasonable. Top |
