Sammanfattning: Based freely on the classic novels by CS Forester, Hornblower is a series of TV films following the progress of a young officer through the ranks of the British navy during the Napoleonic Wars. The series' greatest asset is the handsome and charismatic Ioan Gruffudd in the lead role, surely a major star in the making. No more faithful to Forester's books than the 1951 Gregory Peck classic Captain Horatio Hornblower, the real inspiration seems to have come from the success of Sharpe, starring Sean Bean, which likewise featured a British hero in the Napoleonic Wars. Nevertheless, while rather more easygoing than the real British navy of the time, the Hornblower saga delivers an entertaining adventure, greatly enhanced by the presence of such guest stars as Denis Lawson, Cheri Lunghi, Ronald Pickup and Anthony Sher. Beginning in 1794 with the 17-year-old midshipman joining the fleet at Portsmouth, "The Even Chance" offers a rather rushed introduction. --Gary S Dalkin

Sammanfattning: While too many films suffer the fate of creative bankruptcy, Being John Malkovich is a refreshing study in contrast, so bracingly original that you'll want to send director Spike Jonze and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman a thank-you note for restoring your faith in the enchantment of film. Even if it ultimately serves little purpose beyond the thrill of comedic invention, this demented romance is gloriously entertaining, spilling over with ideas that tickle the brain and even touch the heart. That's to be expected in a movie that dares to ponder the existential dilemma of a forlorn puppeteer (John Cusack) who discovers a metaphysical portal into the brain of actor John Malkovich. The puppeteer takes a job working as a file clerk on the seventh-and-a-half floor of a Manhattan office building; this idea alone might serve as the comedic basis for an entire film, but Jonze and Kaufman are just getting started. Add a devious co-worker (Catherine Keener), Cusack's dowdy wife (a barely recognisable Cameron Diaz), and a business scheme to capitalise on the thrill of being John Malkovich, and you've got a movie that just gets crazier as it plays by its own outrageous rules. Malkovich himself is the film's pièce de résistance, playing on his own persona with obvious delight and--when he enters his own brain via the portal--appearing with multiple versions of himself in a tour-de-force use of digital trickery. Does it add up to much? Not really. But for 112 liberating minutes, Being John Malkovich is a wild place to visit. --Jeff Shannon

Sammanfattning: This is a great piece of entertainment!Ofcourse, someone (dis)liking this depends 90 percent on their musical taste,if you really aren't into artists like The Band ,Van the man (Morrison),Neil Young,or even Bobby Dylan then I suggest you leave it alone. On the other hand, if you are like me and obsessed with this kind of music then stop reading this right now and try to find this great documentary/concert!The entire film revolves around the very last concert that the band gave and is directed by Martin Scorcese. The concert is like one big party with some of the best rock music their is ever written and the comments from Scorcese,Robbie Robertson and some of the other musicians really gives you a great insight into their perfomance and what it was like, in their case ,to be rockstars on the road. The performances are are all of immense quality, ofcourse with such a line-up, what else can you expect?Van Morrison in my opinion is the best performer on stage in this show.I usually can't stand to hear a single bad comment on Bob Dylan because he is possibly my greatest hero of all time, but his performance was not what I'm used to from him.Ofcourse he was still great but I think everybody that knows him even a little expects The Zim to be superb 24/7.In my opinion this is worth four stars...1)This is possibly the best artist line-up in Rock history.2)The comments by director and performers give it an extra buz.3)When you watch this you can't help but feeling you're actually there in the concert hall with them.Great!
