what was his dream?

for kailea, going to bed is the hardest thing to do. specially when she has a question in her curious mind. she came to my room, and asked, "mom, do you know that it's martin luther king jr.'s birthday today?" impressed, i said yes and asked her back, "do you know who martin luther king jr. is?" searching for simple words to use, i googled. i quickly skimmed through his bio, but i couldn't find a few words that would tell his story. kailea stopped me by saying, "hmmm, he had a dream- but mommy, i don't know his dream. what was his dream?"

brent came to the rescue. he explained to kai as simple as he could, without losing the essence of martin luther king jr.'s dream. she understood. and she was satisfied. just before leaving to get back to her own bed, she thought of more-

"did somebody put a shot at him?"
"yes, somebody shot him and that's how he died."
"why did they do that?"
"because they didn't believe in his dream."
