i skipped gym



brent got a call from the blood bank at work this afternoon. 'those vampires', barbara our receptionist announced. before taking the call, brent asked if i was going to the gym. i quickly replied, 'i can skip...' he really didn't want me to, but i insisted. i told him that he gave me an excuse to be lazy. after all, blood bank trumps gym. yeah, brent's been saving lives for years. i always wanted to do something equally heroic. sure, i am an organ donor. but they would have to wait till i die to get what they need. i wish i could, in a big way support st. luke's children's hospital or serve some meals to the homeless in a soup kitchen. something like that....
this weekend, we volunteered for a garden work party in kailea's pre-school. it's not a grand heroic act, but i have to give up sleeping in as it starts at 8:30 am. i'll start with that....
