Sunflowers nurseries are designed and purpose built to fully meet the unique needs of the pre-school child. Our decision to purpose build has given us a wonderful opportunity to provide the ideal learning and caring environment without compromise.

Rooms are spacious, light and bright, and are planned to provide significantly more space for each child in our care than is required by current legislation.

Low level windows in all our childcare rooms let natural light come flooding in. Because these windows are at just the right height for inquisitive little eyes, children can look straight out into the nursery garden, and take in what's going on outside. All these windows have safety glass.

There are no radiators to take up valuable play space. Instead we've fitted underfloor heating to provide gentle warmth underfoot that is ideal for babies and toddlers who spend a great deal of their time at floor level.

With asthma and childhood allergies on the increase, we've installed clean air filtering that takes out moist warm air and replaces it with fresh clean air from outside. The system is also kind to the environment as it reclaims 90% of the heat from the outgoing air.

Child safety and security have also been designed into our nurseries. The buildings and outside play areas are totally secure. All internal doors have adult level handles and are fitted with hinge guards to protect little fingers. Electrical fittings are also out of reach of enquiring hands.

 

 

Decoration and furnishings are bright, cheerful and child orientated, in keeping with our philosophy that children should come to nursery to have fun - and learn a lot in the process.

The buildings themselves provide plenty of different rooms where we can split children by age and also by the type of activity that they are doing.

We've spent almost as much time thinking about our outdoor play areas where we can offer your child a range of experiences. There's also lots of space for simply running around and enjoying outdoor games with friends and staff.

Sunflowers' outside play areas are also split into separate zones to allow children of similar ages to play together safely in their own part of the garden.
