Making movies with Still Clips in iMovie -


Open iMovie from the launcher

(iMovie always opens with the last movie worked on)

...open File, New Project in iMovie

• Save to the Student Folder on your iBook (iMac) while you work

• DO NOT save to a server while working on an open project - iMovie will freeze
To save to a server - Quit iMovie and DRAG the folder* icon to a folder on a server•
Backup to the Snap Server ( Clarke_World, un=_____ , pw=____ )
 
* iMovie creates a folder for your project.

In the folder is a small file that directs the movie and

a folder with all the Media (clips, sounds, music, transitions, etc.)
You need all these parts - open your project from the file with your movie name
 

....import clips (images) into iMovie

From the Internet-

www.google.com (click Images)

• find image, click and hold on image and select save image as (? rename)

• find the largest image size you can (30 K or bigger), iMovie needs a very large image.

Import all your clips to the shelf in iMovie

• File, Import Image, browse to image(s) saved

From HyperStudio CD

• Import all your clips to the shelf in iMovie

• File, Import Image, browse to image(s) saved
• insert CD, browse to HyperStudio CD, Media Library, Photo Gallery

... Move clips to the clip viewer in iMovie

 

....change order of clips in clip viewer if necessary

 

....add titles over black or over an image - click the TITLES button

 

...record audio clips - click the AUDIO button

• Use a CD - Insert your CD into the CD drive on the iBook (iMac)
• Record your voice - click on a track to delete it
• Download sound files from Apple's iMovie freestuff web site

 

...adjust the time for each clip....


....add transitions - click the TRANSITIONS button

Most transitions subtract time from final movie length
