First Harmony Farms sells quality Border Collie, Miniature Australian Shepherd, and English Setter Puppies from health tested parents. Hedgehog babies and occasional hedgehog adults and rescues are also available.

Important: First Harmony Farms is now located in Illinois. We can no longer arrange direct pickup of animals in Colorado. If you are interested in receiving an animal from First Harmony Farms, you will need to arrange shipment or transport from Illinois. Our friend from Hazel Mountain Hedgehogs in Denver, CO will be visiting us in November and may be able to help with transport.

Puppy Rearing
Our puppies are raised in our home with our family. They are exposed to a variety of children and other animals and are handled daily. We use Early neurologic Stimulation on the puppies. They are exposed to car rides, collar and leash, and crates before going to their new homes. They are exposed to carpet, linoleum, and stairs in our home. Weather permitting, they will go outside on grass, dirt and rocks. Our yard has a wide variety of obstacles for puppies to practice playing on. The puppies are raised with our children, so are used to a large variety of noises and toys and the chaos of a large family. They have had regular baths and nail trimmings before going to their new homes. They are taken on vet trips for their socialization and vet care even though we could easily do this at home since we are both veterinarians. We feel a positive vet experience at a young age can make a huge difference of how they handle visits the rest of their lives. Puppies are temperament tested using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test at 6 weeks old. This test allows us to see how the puppies will perform away from their peers and if they have any sensitivities that may need special care in that first year. We will also give a summary of the puppies personalities at home. Each puppy is microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed (3 times). The aussies have had their dew claws and tails removed at birth. Aussies may also be left with a natural docked tail, if present.
Puppies will have pictures loaded onto our webpage as well as on our facebook page. You are welcome to download any of the pictures of your puppy to keep.
People on the waiting list are welcome to choose a puppy at any time, but we strongly recommend waiting until after their temperament test. It is easiest if people come and meet the puppies in person, but we understand that it can be difficult to travel for some owners. We are willing to discuss each puppy on the phone and have people pick their puppy over the phone. Puppies will be shipped at 8 weeks old
Puppies will come with a small amount of food, collar, toys, and blanket.

Deposits are non-refundable. If you are interested in placing a puppy deposit we'd like to speak with you first. Please email us at firstharmonyfarms@yahoo.com or give us a call. Afterwards we can send you a Paypal invoice for the deposit if you would like to pay with Paypal. Note: If you are from Colorado and wish to place a deposit, First Harmony Farms is no Longer in Colorado. Shipping charges would need to be added or other deliver arrangements would need to be made. Please contact us.
We can not sell hedgehogs in the following areas: Arizona, California, Georgia (unless as licensed breeder), and Pennsylvania.
We can sell to people from Maine if they obtain the appropriate permits from fish and game. Hedgehog laws can be very weird and very hard to locate. Please do research before considering buying a hedgehog. Your state fish and game and your local city council are the best place to ask.
We are sorry for any inconvience. You may take note of this amazing story of an 11-year old boy who got a city council in Kansas to rule hedgehogs legal. Be proactive and educate your areas, though it is understandable where more temperate or desert climates would be concerned about hedgehogs escaping and surviving in the wild.
