First Harmony Farms

First Harmony Farms breeds Border Collies, English Setters, Hedgehogs and Chinchillas. Currently located in Colorado, FHF was started in 1992 and is owned by Lynette and Stuart VandeVenter. As veterinarians we both enjoy devoting our lives to animals and their health. We believe in breeding animals for health, performance, and temperament. We urge people to get out into the world and enjoy the companionship of their pets through competition. We strive to educate the public on animal care, health and issues.

Border Collies and English Setters

Our main interests at the moment are in the breeding of English Setters and Border Collies. We find English Setters to be an excellent family dog. Beyond their ability to be natural companions, they have an amazing work ethic for hunting and competition. Border Collies themselves are fundamental workers. We breed our Border Collies with competition and working homes in mind, stressing the Botyne line. Our animals have pedigrees that contain names such as: CH Sunstorm and CH Havelock Blacksmith. We support versatility in our dogs to participate in a variety of dog competitions as well as being fantastic pets.

Hedgehogs and Chinchillas

First Harmony Farms also enjoys the breeding of Chinchillas and Hedgehogs. Our hedgehogs are bred for temperament and color and are handled as soon as we are able. Hedgehogs are interesting, social and easy to care for creatures. Chinchillas are furry and entertaining. Our waiting list for hedgehogs is usually extensive, so get on the list today.

First Harmony Farms News

Things continue to swing at First Harmony Farms. Breeze ran a 3.8 and really came into her own at Flyball recently. We ran her hard and have learned more about her flyball needs. Faith is evolving and doing well in moving forward in the sport. Destiny is staying with the herding trainer in Iowa and we are making final plans to breed Faith in the near future. Digit is on her final trek to the Hobbes title in flyball as well. It will be a very exciting time in the months to come!

Lots has been happening around FHF. We've had lots of Travels with the dogs for Flyball and Breeze is coming into her own as flyball dog, running her first 3.9 seconds. Faith made her Flyball Debut earning her first two titles

New Hedgehog litters have hit the ground to go to new homes in June. We are filling our current waiting list the third week of May and taking future orders.
