First thigs first...
(25/05/2003)
Added some notes to the history and psychology sections.
(14/11/2002)
Philosophy section, Relativity Notes, Renamed the Physics Mechanics Option to reflect it's true nature, and added some history notes on 'Kagan 26 End of WWI'. Enjoy.
(29/09/2002)
Ditto.
(26/05/2002)
Updated some stuff...100 points if you can work out what.
(11/05/2002)
Well, there have been assorted updates I haven't noted on here, but right now I just added a bunch of new biology notes, and a link to a site with a fairly complete set. What we really need is for someone to sift though all the ones currently around and make one complete integrated set.
(24/06/2001)
A bunch of new notes just too late for the 2001 May exams...
We've got new History notes, English notes, Bio Option Notes and a whole new section, Anthropology.
Hope everyone's exams went well...best of luck for your results.
(12/05/2001)
Wow, two in two days
Added : Added some more history notes...
I really think we need someone to go through and put them in some sort of coherent order. Volunteers?
(11/05/2001)
Another update...Good luck to all those in the midst of exams.
Added : Some new notes to the History section, English notes on Death of a Salesman, and notes for Chem Option G. Thanks to all those who contributed.
(7/02/2001)
A bunch of the MS Word docs which were converted to HTML weren't quite working as nicely as I might have liked, so I've replaced them with PDF versions. Unfortunatly, that means people can't edit them, but then, that HTML wouldn't have been much fun to edit either.
Also added - Some history notes on Cuba.
(20/01/2001)
Wow...Matt actually gets around to doing a proper update...well, here's what we've got...
New sets of Definitions in Physics and Chem, some Maths notes I finally converted into HTML, and some new notes in the Biology and Psychology sections. Well done to everyone who contributed to all that...and sorry for taking so long about posting some of it.
(17/12/2000)
Added some Psychology Notes, thanks to Neeraj Dalal.
(25/4/2000)
A quick an dirty update (cause I'm at home on term break) to put up a set of Biology notes (I'll just put that in big letters there :) thanks to Suey Vanbaarle. I've not yet had time to fully organise them, but for those of you with exams looming, you can grab all 180k of them here. Good luck to everyone in their exams...and may you not need it :)
(16/12/1999)
A couple of updates to the chem section (One's an important correction to 16.4.5) thanks to Marc Weiner.
(28/11/1999)
Finally got around to converting some notes from MS Word format into PDFs, so there's some new stuff in the Economics, Biology, Physics and Chem sections...Enjoy.
(29/8/1999)
First of all, a set of geography notes has been created by one of the teachers at Atlanta International School. They don't look complete yet, but then, that's probably just following the trend of most things around here.
Tímea Garlati has kindly donated a set of notes for the Astrophysics option...SL and HL.
Also, Blazej has set up a site of, among other things, IB Economics Notes...
(14/6/1999)
A whole bunch of updates...a couple of corrections/additions to the physics notes, plus, English, Economics, History and Biology notes...all in great need of contributors (and maintainers if anyone's interested). Thanks to everyone on the ibn-contrib list.
There are a bunch more notes in each of these topics just waiting to be converted from MS Word format to html (hint, hint).
(29/4/1999)
Physics Topic 13 (13.3.2 to 13.3.4) has been updated with some more notes thanks to Jonathan Chui.
On an entirely un-IB-related note, anyone who thinks internet censorship is totally braindead, (particularly any Australians) should go and sign this petition against an internet censorship bill currently being rushed through the Australian parliament.
(25/4/1999)
Just a quick update. Chem Topic 16 has a small correction thanks to moseung@hanmail.net (your name got garbled...sorry).
M+(g) + X-(aq) = MX(s) should have been M+(g) + X-(g) = MX(s)
It's reassuring to finally have people reporting some mistakes, cause I'm sure there are quite a few.
Also, since this worked so well last time, Economics and English notes. Are there any or are you willing to help make some? Either way, the ibn-contrib list would like to hear about it.
(22/4/1999)
Well, talk about a quick response. The day after I asked about biology notes, I got an email from Daniel Conway, with these two links.
IB Biology syllabus notes
IB History syllabus notes
So there we have it. The biology notes don't look entirely complete, and it was my impression that the history syllabus was huge with schools doing different parts, but both look useful (at least, to someone who knows nothing about either).
(19/4/1999)
Well, updates have been a bit of a pain recently, because my college connection is behind a firewall which won't let me upload by FTP. Not to worry, since I'm home on holidays, I've only just got the time to do it anyway.
A few changes in physics. 6.1.5 said electrons went to the cathode when they actually come from it, we now have some notes in Optics (H.1.11) rather than my lame excuses and the same goes for how Chadwick discovered the neutron in 13.2.2.
SuperStats has finally set up a system so I can make the site statistics public...check them out here.
Finally, there's been a little discussion recently on Biology notes. I don't know of any, and I'm certainly in no position to write any of my own, but if anyone's interested in helping put a set together, jump onto the ibn-contrib list.
(30/1/1999)
Our IB Maths notes are here...or at least, on their way. So far it's just a bunch of empty html templates, but wheels are in motion. I'm not entirely sure how well they'll work out, but armed with equation editors and maths text books, we're ready to give it a shot. For now, only the HL and Advanced Maths sections have contributors. Come on Methods and Studies people...stop your slacking and subscribe to the IB Notes Contributors List. (Do you think I'm pushing that enough?)
(18/1/1999)
Ok...Unfortunately there have been some changes at SuperStats which mean we can no longer provide a link for you to view the page stats. I'm trying to work out a better solution, but for the time being, I'll be commenting on any interesting stats here in the news.
The other thing we have to report is a message from the organizer of the IB Webring, of which this site is a member. Basically, he's going to try to put some life back into the alt.education.ib news group, so please drop by and interact with your fellow IBers...
Good day.
My name is Sebastian Brannstrom, I am the ring manager for the
International Baccalaureate webring. I am also an IB student at
Saltsjobadens Samskola, Sweden.
This letter is sent to all the people who have pages in the IB webring.
The reason I am writing it is to try to connect the IB students on the
internet, and my list of names seemed as a good place to start.
As far as I know, both the IB mailing-lists are dead, as is the usenet
newsgroup alt.education.ib. Just one year ago, these were all active,
and a variety of subjects were discussed. It seems all the people who
participated have now graduated from IB.
But I needn't be that way!
I will try to start a few discussions in the newsgroup, and there should
be plenty of topics to discuss. It is about time we get down and do it!
I would like your suggestions as to how we could keep the IB community
on the net blooming again, so keep in touch.
Sebastian Brannstrom
Fellow IB student, and IB Webring manager

Well, hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, or, for those not into that christian stuff, a Merry Friday.
Anyway, no big updates to report, but we've broken 1000 visitors since I started keeping track. For those who are interested, you can take a look at the page stats here. Sorry, due to SuperStats changes, it's not currently possible for the general public to view the stats.
(8/12/1998)
No, I'm not going to start updating this daily :)
Most importantly,we've now got a contributors mailing list, thanks to OneList. If you think you can contribute anything from notes, corrections to a nice logo graphic, or even if you just want to lurk and get to know about the updates as they happen, follow this link to subscribe. Oh, and the (currently empty) archives are available here.
We've also got two updates. Firstly, Blazej Zak has found some info on acoustic lenses in physics SL option H.1.7, and secondly, Bob Trower has written an explanation of why entropy and time are unrelated in physics section 10.3.12. Thanks go to them both.
(7/12/1998)
Well, we're heading towards 1000 visitors since we started (992 as of today, so we should break 1k by the end of December). So, time for some news...
Apparently somewhere along the line I submitted this site to PointGuide, who just accepted it. Now we're in the running for their top 10 Reference::Academic site list, so if you like this site, please vote for it
In other news, I stumbled on a little chem program the other day by the name of ChemLab. The Mac version feels like a rather awful Win32 port (so we can suffer along with our microserf brethren). It does, however, have some nice beakers pictures which you could rip out to use in Prac write ups/Lab reports/whatever your country calls them. take a look at http://modelscience.com for both Mac and Win32 demo versions.
(29/10/1998)
As of today, (Thursday the 29th) we broke 500 visitors since I started keeping track about three months ago. Keep in mind that that's individual people not 'hits' (and for those of you who know what it means, that's somewhat deflated by proxy servers). In other news (and just so you can all get some benefit from that annoying super stats banner), browsers are just about split 50-50 between IE and Netscape, though Netscape's much more fragmented between versions. Most of you are getting here via bookmarks or other untraceable methods, but we are getting some hits from search engines ( Infoseek rates us number 1 on the query 'how to get a 7 on my chem IB exam :)
In case anyone cares, there's now a picture of me on the contributors page, and good luck to everyone for the impending November exams.
(24/9/1998)
Since no one was using it, the board room has now been removed. I may, however, consider setting up a mailing list of some description if people show some interest...so if you want one, tell me. (Other suggestions are also welcome, of course).
I've also been looking at a nice Java demo applet which might find some purpose somewhere here. Take a look at the three example pages (1 2 3) and suggest how. (Removed due to lack of interest).
(30/8/1998)
Sunaina has kindly updated Chem topic 11, now with diagrams and all...Check it out here.
