MOULSHAM LODGE CAMERA CLUB
Formed back in 1981 by four local enthusiasts, the Club held its first meetings ‘behind
the stage’ at the local Community Centre. One year later, as the club’s membership
grew, we moved to our present meeting place in St. Luke’s Church Hall on Moulsham
Lodge Estate. Although many of our current members live in the Moulsham area, we
also have members from all over Chelmsford and from other parts of Essex.
The aims of our club are to provide a focal point for aspiring photographers of all ages
and abilities. We meet on Monday evenings from September through to May each year.
Our Club programme includes competitions, lectures, digital image and print shows,
practical evenings and much more. During the summer months we meet for
photographic days out, treasure hunts and BBQ’s, with an annual ‘long week-end away’,
to indulge our hobby. Help is always at hand from our more experienced photographers
to assist newer members.
Recently we have been assisted by a grant from the National Lottery Fund, as a result
we have been able to obtain some of the most up to date equipment available. Digital
image making is now the first choice for many photographers but as a long established
club we also cater for film users.
We are members of The East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies and the
Chelmsford Association of Photographic Societies. Membership provides us with many
opportunities to meet regularly with other clubs for competitions, exhibitions and
lectures.
We are always pleased to welcome new members to our Club and WE ARE
CURRENTLY OFFERING ONE MONTH’S FREE MEMBERSHIP+ for those who wish to
give us a try. Please see our Programme Page for a complete listing of current activities.
We meet at 7.45 pm for an 8.00 pm start on Monday evenings at St. Luke’s Church Hall,
Gloucester Avenue, Chelmsford, CM2 9LG. For further details please come along to our
