Mr. Hobbs will be our featured luncheon speaker on Tuesday with a presentation entitled "Portrait of the Author as a Young Dog."

At an earlier 10 o'clock session on Tuesday, Will Hobbs will present “Into the Wild with Will Hobbs.” He will be sharing the slides and stories of his own adventures that have been the inspiration for the books he writes.

Will Hobbs is the author of fifteen novels for upper elementary, middle school and young adult readers, as well as two picture book stories, Beardream and Howling Hill.

Seven of his novels (Bearstone, Downriver, The Big Wander, Beardance, Far North, The Maze and Jason’s Gold) have been named Best Books for Young Adults by the American Library Association, and two of those titles (Far North and Downriver) have also been included in ALA’s list of the “100 Best Young Adult Books of the 20th Century.”

Mr. Hobbs’ first mystery, Ghost Canoe, won the Edgar Allan Poe national award for Best Young Adult Mystery. His books have been nominated for state awards in over thirty states.
