EnGauge Results: Putting Meaning to State Level Data - Stuart Ciske DPI (Rm. E)
DPI staff has examined results from the Online Survey of enGauge and will present its findings on each of the six Essential Conditions of enGauge. This session will offer comparisons to other recent statewide surveys results (Levels of Technology Integration (LoTI) and annual DPI/TEACH Wisconsin spring technology surveys). Included will be insight on how DPI will use enGauge data to assist CESAs and districts in advancing technology use and information and technology literacy in the classroom. [DP]

There are a wide range of standards-based instructional television resources available from the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board (ECB) and broadcast statewide on Wisconsin's public television stations. In this fast-paced session, the Regional Educational Telecommunications Area (RETA) Directors and staff from the ECB will demonstrate how to integrate several of these resource - from video to CD-ROM to the Internet - into the curriculum. During this presentation participants will learn how to search ECB's database and web site; hear about how teachers are using the instructional resources in the classroom; take home ideas on integrating these resources into the curriculum; and receive information on new resources in production. This presentation will share the conversations held and approach used by the partnership between the University of Wisconsin School of Education CIMC and the Dane Districts Online learning consortium of six independent School Districts as they worked together to develop a shared vision of on-line resource and resource management, of online course delivery, and the usage of online forums to develop and nurture district and multi-district learning communities.
Issues presented will include the team approach used to address institutional readiness preparation such as professional development required and Technical equipment and support, a means for building consensus when designing a cataloging systems for learning objects and addressing the issues related to the dynamic nature of developing and maintaining quality Learning Objects.
