DDeuce Poker Software
This page contains all the poker related software I've developed. Most
of this has been done for my own use. Last updated 15 January 2005.
PokerJournal v1.53 for Palm
PokerJournal allows you to track your poker sessions and calculates
some standard statistics. To enter a session is quite simple. Select
the location, game and limit you are about to play and your initial
buy-in. The click the Set Start Time button to set the start
time of the session to the current time. When you leave the table,
press the Set Finish Time, and enter the amount you cash out.
Then by selecting the Statistics menu item, you can see your
standard deviation and hourly rate based on where, what, and how high
you play. If you select the Graph, you can see your total win
and hourly rate plotted in color.
Requires Palm OS 3.1 or higher.
Download Version 1.50:
- Poker Journal
Installer for Windows . Please unzip to a temporary directory and execute the
setup program. If you want to remove it later, go to add/remove
programs in the control panel.
- Poker Journal Installer for
Macintosh. Please unstuff to a temporary directory and double
click on PokerJournal1.13.prc. Then copy Poker Journal
Conduit to the Conduits directory. On Mac OS X, it should
be
/Library/Application Support/Palm Hotsync/Conduits
On Mac OS 8/9, it should be in
:Macintosh HD:System Folder:Application Support:Palm HotSync:Conduits
If you are using syncing with both operating systems, you will need
to copy it to both places. If there is interest, I'll create an installer.
- If you do not care about the conduit, just download the
PokerJournal v1.53
Application. This is how I update my Treo.
- Or view the Read Me.

FAQ
- Will this ever be available for PocketPC? The short answer
is no, but the better answer would be that I wouldn't do it as
freeware. I wrote PokerJournal pretty much because I needed it.
When I put it on the internet it was to see how DonationWare worked
as a concept and to get feedback about my software. Programming for
PocketPC is very different and much more time-consuming than for the
Palm. And since it would cost me more than just time to develop
(since I don't own one), unless I get paid to do it, I just can't
afford the time.
- How about feature XYZ? Ask, and ye shall receive. I accept
all suggestions for improvements, even from those that don't pay.
But a lot of the suggested features haven't been included, and I
usually have a better explanation than "I don't have the time."
- What's with the crappy website? I had a webpage in 1994,
and on that page I used only the standard HTML tags with very
little adornment. This is easy to maintain with a text editor and
conveys the most information without taxing my servers.
- Why the name change? After I started the app, I learned of
another program called PokerTracker. It's a windows only program
that tracks online poker sessions. It's a fine program, and
different, but I wanted to reduce confusion out there. So I
registered the website poker-journal.com and changed the name. I
waited for some more features to update it.
