11 September 2001. On this day, my proud nation was attacked. We were attacked because we are Americans. Because we live free. I have shed more tears this week than in a very long time. Seeing the horrible wreckage wrought in New York and Washington, DC, has hurt my heart in a terrible way. Even though I do not personally know any individuals at either attack site, nor any passenger on the aircraft stolen for use as weapons, I have been personally attacked. I have been assaulted because I love America. Because I love the flag which represents the sacrifice and valor and lives which have been the price of the freedoms I possess. Because my blood type is "American Red." Let there be no mistake: this is my generation's Pearl Harbor. Though the forces that attacked (and continue to attack us at every opportunity) were not military forces of another sovereign nation, they were no less committing acts of war. My nation is now at war with the faceless, cowardly evil known as terrorism. Americans have always answered the call to protect ourselves, our allies, and the very freedoms which we enjoy. This time will be no different. I served in my nation's armed forces for a number of years, and I would proudly return to service at risk of my own life in order to participate in the destruction of those forces which would threaten my freedoms, my family, my life, and the great nation which I love so dearly. To those who stand against America, your days are numbered. |

| Remember the Blood of Heroes... pays fitting tribute to the members of the New York Fire Department who perished on 9/11. | |||
| Honor the Fallen recognizes each of the men and women of our armed forces whose lives have been lost in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. There can be no higher calling than the defense of the principles of freedom in our Constitution. These men and women paid the highest possible price in order to ensure that all of us can be free. Let none of us ever forget that sacrifice. | |||
| America Attacked 9 1 1 poignantly remembers what happened on that fateful day which has now come to be known simply as "9/11." It is a touching reminder and tribute that you should see. | |||

Welcome to my home page. My family and I live in Montgomery, Alabama, the Capital City of our great State
(visit the city's official web site by clicking on the picture at left). My wife's name is Lea (born Melinda
Lea Farler). We have two children, Jeremy and Kathryn. Jeremy served nearly five years in the United States Air
Force, including once being deployed in Iraq, and is now pursuing college thanks to the new Post-9/11 GI Bill.
Kathryn is also a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School and will hopefully resume her educational pursuits soon.
She's also the mother of our one and only grandchild, Claire.

Well, did you figure it out? If you guessed that it's something to do with Apple Macintosh computers, I'm afraid
you guessed incorrectly (it would be nice, though!). Actually, since 1981 I've been in the computer software business. I
was trained as a programmer by the United States Air Force, where I served proudly for
9 years. Since early 1990, I've been continuing to pursue my professional interest in computing and programming in the
civilian world, having been employed for all of that time by CACI, Inc. I happen to be
a big Macintosh supporter, so I had some of those cute little pictures lying around. |

Another of my very special interests is football. No, I don't mean just any old kind of football. I mean college football! What else would you expect from a person from Alabama, where football is practically a religion! And, of course, my favorite team is none other than the mighty and tradition-rich Alabama Crimson Tide! It would be sacrilege not to pay tribute to this great athletic program. Click th Tide logo at right to visit my page of schedules and scores from the past several years, where I also have some pictures of some coaches and players. |

I wasn't born yet at the time of the famous "alleged" UFO crash and alien autopsy, if that counts for anything. But I have always had a fascination with science fiction and science fact where the subject of alien intelligence and possible visitation is concerned. (Do remember that I have a Star Trek page, and I'm a participant in the SETI@Home project.) For a very long time, I had links in this space to a couple of sites which I thought were "interesting" and which dealt with efforts to get the Government to "tell the truth" about what some people think happened near Roswell. However, the owner of that site now advertises his own material, which I find rather uninteresting. So let's just say that I'm still (and likely always will be) intrigued by the various stories about what may or may not have happened near Roswell in the summer of 1947. And I'll always be amused by getting to tell people that I was born in what's known the world over as a "possible UFO crash site." |
So now I've told you a bit about me. Feel free to send me any comments you have about this page or my interests via e-mail (over
at the little mailbox picture).
Please keep in mind that this page is always
going to be "under construction" as I find new and different things to put here. I'll try to add some links to favorite
places with more information about the topics described above or on the various specialty pages I create. So stop back by here from
time to time to see what links I've found. One important link is to my personal
bookmarks which I update occasionally. This will give you a chance to
find other sites which I find interesting, even if I don't specifically address them here.
