I'm a great-uncle, again!


One of the weird things about having a brother 17 years older than me is I have nieces four and six years younger than myself. I was 31 when I became a "great" uncle when my great-niece Joey was born. She is adorable! Well, today at 8:25am I got a great-nephew - Bryan Keith.

Good things come to those who blog

Two separate worlds


The last two nights I've spent downtown. Thursday night was the opening of UMA, a trendy home accessories store, on the ground floor of the Louderman Lofts building. Great stuff and the party was well done. Friday night was the gallery walk after a light dinner at Lucas Park Grille. With new furnishings and accessory stores opening on nearly every corner and every week downtown is quickly transforming from a business district into a full fledged neighborhood.

What is it about me that wanted to blog on St. Louis?


I'm often involved trying to save buildings from being demolished all the while stating I am not a preservationist. How can I put so much effort into saving old buildings and not be a preservationist?
