Ashcroft has officially resigned! Yeah!!! This has nothing to do with urbanity and St. Louis but I really wanted to comment.

First of all, a five page hand written resignation letter? Can the Attorney General not use a computer? I'm guessing he actually can use a computer but was afraid of his own policies on privacy.

Here is the quote that got me: "The objective of securing the safety of Americans from crime and terror has been achieved.'' Wow, he works fast because just a week ago the administration was still instilling fear into Americans. So basically they spent three years developing a plan and then in the week after the election made us all safe. Right.

But while I am glad he is leaving the Bush administration I do have mixed feelings. Ashcroft stated, "I believe that my energies and talents should be directed toward other challenging horizons." Other challenging horizons? Let me guess, coming back to Missouri and chasing out anyone that is gay or pro-choice? Oh no, I'm both gay and pro-choice!

Maybe I'll get one of those little fish symbols to put on my car next to the HRC sticker just to throw them off my trail.
