*MITAMA SHIZUME is the form of meditation used. It involves the synchronization of slowed breathing to the sound of a deeply resonant Buddhist bell. Such breathing helps the practitioner relax, increase awareness, and focus. The practice also allows for a tracing of the movement of "ki," or energy, in & out of the body.
**SPECIAL NOTE - All adult sessions are open to children according to the following guidelines: Children ages 6 through 11 may train in the adult classes if they are accompanied by a family member or responsible guardian who also participates. Sharing practice in this way makes the training safe, positively influences families, and helps create a caring feeling in the dojo. Otherwise boys and girls (age 12 and above) may participate in the regularly scheduled adult classes with parental approval.
