Witt Sensei, 7th Dan, Visits ANV!
.................. |
| S. Gengo, Dojo Cho
On the evening of March 8th, students at Aikido of Noe Valley were privileged to train with Sensei Bill Witt, Shihan. Gengo Sensei's teacher since 1978, Witt Sensei shared his vast knowledge of fundamental concepts with an eager group of students. Sensei has agreed to return on a more regular basis. His visits are clearly a boost to our training!

| SHIATSU AT THE DOJO! |
|
|
|
Meditation |
| MITAMA SHIZUME - breathing to a Buddhist bell - is being taught and practiced as a portion of our keiko (sincere training) at the dojo. Purification exercises (misogi) were highly important to the founder and the benefits are profound: stabilizing breathing decreases stress and increases internal power. |
SPECIAL NOTE: Although warm-up exercises at the dojo would easily be recognized by Aikidoist worldwide, ours are organized, patterned & nuanced to include activation of the 12 Meridians as well as the Governor & Conception Vessels. In a sense, every warm-up is a short shiatsu treatment! |

| A NEW SHRINE AT ANV! |
A new shrine has been installed at Aikido of Noe Valley. This elagant piece was donated by John O'Connell, 4th dan, a friend of the dojo. In addition, a powerfully large, new kagami (mirror) was delivered from Japan, a gift from Bob Rosin of the dojo. Also enshrined within this sacred artifact is bound sweetgrass, a Shinto artifact from Barrish Sensei. Thank you, Everyone!
