Soul Cleansing



Todays world is full of demands. Demands on your time, your body, and your life. Occasionally we take some time to ourselves .... for me its sitting atop a mountain, or napping in the hot summer sun as i drift aimlessly across a lake. it is these times that i can hear a voice inside. this voice does not speak with words but it is there softly speaking into the wind of todays demands. Although I'm never quite sure what this voice is saying .... i take comfort in knowing its there .... and that i can afford the time to find a peaceful spot on the globe to soak in all that nature, and God has given us.

I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday who told me of her travels to the grand canyon and how words fail to completely describe what she experienced. although i have yet to experience the grand canyon for myself I believe i know the feeling. the feeling of being somewhere so inspiring that it can be difficult to realize that what your eyes are seeing, what your body is experiencing, IS REAL. Like standing inside of some great painting ... feeling as though the image is just inches from your reach.

This is an excerpt from a discussion with a friend of mine I add this because it is a great example of how daily demands on a person can build on you (like plaque on your soul) and it takes a moment of zen to help clear your path.


"I'm not interested in much lately.. not sure what the matter is."

"You need a RESET EVENT. That is something that when your done you can
clearly see your path again .... Kudzu is Clogging the view of your path
in front of you .... One more cut or scrape and you'd better break out the
Herbicide and bush hogs. After that maintenance is done you can
continue down your path."

"LOVE the analogy.. trouble is identifying the Kudzu. Can you find a
place to go skydiving this weekend ? Maybe that will help."
