Welcome to my web site

I studied mathematics as an undergraduate at London University, and then went to Oxford University as a research student in the Mathematical Institute, and was awarded my DPhil in 1980.

Something I really love is having a long walk along the coast of Cornwall, which is lucky, because I live there. I also enjoy choral singing, and I have a private pilot's licence, which reminds me of how much I enjoyed flying when I could afford it!

I am the Secretary of the European Mathematical Society, and Programme Secretary of the London Mathematical Society, which needs saving.

My research interests are in graph theory, twistor theory, and the history of geometry, and I also have a variety of mathematical consultancy work.

Finally, here are links to my articles, books, and my teaching interests.
