Little Si

It had been over 3 months since our last hike. I was finally over the symtoms of "morning sickness" (which for me was more like all-day sickness) and we wanted to get out on the trail again. We only had time for a very short hike, so decided to try Little Si. With our late start, it took us a while to find parking along Mount Si Road north of the trailhead (not surprising for such a popular trail on Memorial Day). We made our way up the well-maintained trail.and reached the packed summit in about 60 minutes. Clouds obscured most of the views, but we've heard they are decent on a clear day. After a quick snack break, we headed down the trail. We made slow progress, since my still mending broken toe was giving me some pain on the downhill. We lingered briefly to watch some of the rock climbers and reached the trailhead 60 minutes after leaving the summit. Little Si is an easy and short trail close to Seattle. The round trip distance was 5 miles with 1200' elevation gain. It felt good to be hiking again!
