Our original objective was Silver Star Mountain but a
combination of hip pain, non-optimal weather (some light hail), and our
slow pace turned
this
into a simple hike. We followed a trail to the plateau below Burgundy
Col at
6400’ and then went up a footpath on steep gravel to about 7400’.
There was
quite a bit of snow on the ground, certainly more than we had expected.
We had
a nice lunch at our turn-around spot and then hiked out.
