Steve and I orginally wanted to climb Tinkham Peak so we went back to the Annette Lake trailhead yet again. We got a late start and were moving slow (we made a poor decision to leave the snowshoes in the Jeep) so by the time we made it over the Silver-Abiel saddle (to a nice view of Tinkham) it was already 2 pm. I was feeling pretty sluggish and we didn't want to make our way back in the dark so we decided to head back by way of a traverse over Silver. The south ridge of Silver was wind-blown, making for nice cramponing. Some snowmobilers were highmarking nearby on the slopes of Silver Peak, and later on Tinkham Peak; their engines were wailing nearly constantly as we climbed. We snapped a couple of photos on the summit and then started traversing down the west slope. We rejoined our in-bound tracks just north of the lake and arrived at the car just after sunset. We didn't summit our original objective, but it was a beautiful day to be out.
