Granite Mountain

Sept 11, 2005

[triplog][home]

Elain and I had originally planned to hike up Green Mountain. When we woke up to pouring rain on Saturday, we switched our plans to Granite Mountain the next day. The round-trip distance is 8 miles, and the elevation gain is about 3500'. We took 2:15 to ascend, and the same amount of time to descend. It was a bit foggy so we didn't have much of a view from the summit, but we had a great day nonetheless. My ankle hurt a bit on the descent, but it was better than the previous week. Since our previous visits to Granite Mountain had been in winter, it was nice to see the mountain in autumn colors.
