During his 10 year tenure as bartender and day manager, Sheldon amassed

nature of the establishment, its transformation from an Irish bar to
a gay bar, the old timers, winos, junkies, drag queens, and cooks, from
the viewpoint of Sheldon and two contemporaneously written news articles.
'Terminal Bar' provides the viewer not only with a window into the history
of the bar, but also its place on New York Cityâs West Side when this
neighborhood west of Times Square (across the street from the Port Authority
Bus Terminal) was replete with derelicts and seedy adult theatres before
its Disney-fication in the 1990's.
The photographs, interviews, narration and music are both dark and humorous,
and convey the destructive nature of alcoholism. The stories behind
the pictures provide a glimpse into many broken lives and a subset of
the gay culture of the 1970's in New York.
