It's Here! Act Three!

The Long Wait Is Over

Visit the movies page at www.starshipexeter.com to view the long awaited Third Act of STARSHIP EXETER "The Tressaurian Intersection." We would like to extend a huge "THANK YOU" to everyone who labored on this segment as well as to all our fans who have waited so patiently while we worked. Enjoy!

Bonus Clips:

The first clip, the bridge tour, is a behind the scenes look at the Exeter Bridge. Hosted by Jimm Johnson, this featurette was directed and filmed by Dagoberto Patlan at Austin Studios during production of "The Tressaurian Intersection." Edited by Scott Cummins.

The sceond clip, the segment between Garrovick and Richards in the Exeter's briefing room, has been credited for much of the delay in releasing Act Three. For those who are curious (and have a strong stomach) this is the first rough cut of the infamous scene.

Spotlight on TTI Director

New Feature On The Exeter Team Page

Scott Cummins entered the Starship Exeter world when he discovered the Exeter Website prior to the release of "The Savage Empire." "I had [it] bookmarked for a few months before release-- checking it every so often to see what was happening. Finally, on Dec. 19, 2002, it was posted... I was probably one of the first that watched it." Once the Exeter team announced another episode was planned, Scott contacted them. Originally slated to direct "The Mighty Galvanaut," he transitioned over to "The Tressaurian Intersection" (or TTI, as fans have dubbed it) when the former had to be abandoned, but has no regrets: "We ended up with a far superior script."

Act Two Released

The third segment of STARSHIP EXETER "The Tressaurian Intersection" is now available for online viewing on the MOVIES page at www.starshipexeter.com. In addition to the release of Act Two, the SETS page at www.starshipexeter.com has been updated with detailed photos of the shooting sets and locations. Keep checking this page too, as we will be posting an in depth "spot light" feature on "Tressaurian" director Scott Cummins shortly.

In the mean time, here's a deleted/altered scene from Act Two of "The Tressaurian Intersection:"

This deleted scene features some interesting footage of Harris (Holly Guess) suspended by wires and an alternate music cue that was developed for the scene by Christopher Budd. Enjoy!

While You Wait...

...Bonus Clips From Our New Documentary DVD

Apologies for ongoing the delay. We're still waiting on a few seconds of special effects footage to complete Act One of "The Tressaurian Intersection." Unfortunately, as our special effects team is made up of volunteers, it is difficult at times to meet specific deadlines. I'm afraid we can't give a precise estimate on how long the delay will be. The feeling at this time is that it will be more than just a couple days, but certainly less than a month. We will make the next segment available the moment that it is finished.

Meanwhile, we have three clips from our forthcoming "Behind The Scenes" documentary DVD:

The first clip, "...Send Mr. Cutty Through First," is a deleted scene from Act One of "The Tressaurian Intersection."

The second clip is an interview with Holly Guess (Commander Harris) in which she describes her first day on the set of "The Tressaurian Intersection."

The third clip, STARSHIP EXETER "The Night Shift," is a short comedy that was shot as test footage the night before production of "The Tressaurian Intersection" began. This sketch was written by Dennis Russell Bailey and features some of the STARSHIP EXETER supporting cast (Avram Dodson, Priya Sircar, Xander Gamble, and Charles Reed), as well as a breif appearance by Captain Garrovick.

Part Two Delayed
We are still working on several effects shots for next act of "The Tressaurian Intersection." Release of the second segment of the film will have to wait until these shots are complete. At this point, we don't anticipate a great delay, but any new developments will be posted here.

Release Delayed

"Tressaurian" Premier Now Slated For July 1, 2005

Sorry, folks. The post production team for STARSHIP EXETER "The Tressaurian Intersection" has decided to reschedule the release for July 1, 2005. For the last several weeks, our team has been pushing to make the March 17 deadline. But with just one week to go, it has become clear that some elements critical to the film are not ready and will require more time.

Additionally, as an all-volunteer project, some of the core members of our team have recently needed to give priority to other life and career concerns. We sincerely apologize for the delay. However, the extended deadline will allow us to really put the polish on this film and prepare the STARSHIP EXETER Website for it's release.

Thank you for your understanding. We truly appreciate everyone who has stuck with us, and we are confident that it will be worth the wait.

Episode Release Schedule

New "Behind The Scenes" Documentary Coming Soon

As the release of the new STARSHIP EXETER film draws near, we are working diligently to finalize the edit, complete the special effects sequences, and finish the musical score & audio tracks. With barely three weeks until release, we've found ourselves with more work than we can possibly complete by March 17. However, instead of pushing the release date back yet again, STARSHIP EXETER "The Tressaurian Intersection" will be released as a series of five weekly installments beginning on March 17, 2005. This extended release schedule will allow us to begin Webcasting the first portions of the episode on our promised release date, but still give us several extra weeks to complete the editing and complex effects shots that are needed for the later segments of the film.

STARSHIP EXETER "The Tressaurian Intersection" will be released on the following schedule:

  • March 17, 2005 - Opening Teaser and Main Titles
  • March 24, 2005 - Act One
  • March 31, 2005 - Act Two
  • April 7, 2005 - Act Three
  • April 14, 2005 - Closing Tag and End Credits
The episode will be released as a series of Quicktime Movie files that may be accessed from the MOVIES page at STARSHIPEXETER.COM.

"STARSHIP EXETER: Behind The Scenes"

Concurrent with the release of "The Tressaurian Intersection," EXETER STUDIO will be releasing the DVD documentary "STARSHIP EXETER: Behind The Scenes." Produced by Joel Sarchet, this film documents the creation and release of the second STARSHIP EXETER adventure. "STARSHIP EXETER: Behind The Scenes" will be available as a free gift to donors who wish to continue supporting these films as we begin planning and preproduction for the third episode in the STARSHIP EXETER saga.

'Tressaurian' Trailer Online

Episode Release Rescheduled For March 17

A trailer for the next STARSHIP EXETER adventure, "The Tressaurian Intersection," is now available for online viewing at www.starshipexeter.com. We have decided to reschedule the episode release for March 17, 2005. This was a painful decision for us, as we really hoped to make the new movie available for the Christmas holiday. However, as December approached, it became clear that we would need more time to deliver a truly quality show. Thanks for sticking with us, everyone. Happy Holidays!

New Exeter Movie Now In Post Production

Filming for STARSHIP EXETER "The Tressaurian Intersection" at Austin Studios wrapped on August 1, 2004. We had a crazy, fantastic time during our stay at Austin Studios and came away with incredible footage for the next Exeter movie. As post production gets underway, there remains to be filmed a short on-location scene, pick-up shots, and a number of special-effects sequences.

Thanks to our Cast & Crew!

Our cast and crew were all top-notch. Our volunteer crew stayed committed even when filming from 7:00 PM to 9:00 AM for days in a row. THANKS EVERYONE! Your dedication, enthusiasm, and professionalism has really shown through. We appreciate your hard work and it is well reflected in the great footage we have in the can! Please visit the EXETER TEAM and CAST pages for updated lists of our cast & crew.

Production Photos Available

A number of talented photographers were on hand during principal filming. Their photos can be found on their Websites.

"Atlantis Invaders" On Hold

We had planned to film the aboard-ship sequences for another Exeter episode, "The Atlantis Invaders," during our two-week shoot at Austin Studios. However, two weeks was barely enough time for us to complete filming for "The Tressaurian Intersection" and production costs for "The Tressaurian Intersection" amounted to almost twice our estimated expenses. We still hope to produce a third Exeter episode, but for now we are putting "The Atlantis Invaders" on hold as we focus on the completion and release of "The Tressaurian Intersection" on December 19, 2004.
